This early missionary fork was originally in Tom Wnuck's collection. It's overall length is 7 1/2". The ivory handle is engraved with the image of the Saint over S. Iakobus . In this time period the I represented J. I believe that St. Jakobus is latin for St. James but I could be mistaken. The obverse side of the handle has what appears to be a Latin prayer. This is a very well made eating utensil that would have been cherished in it's day.
