​These early Colt's Navy were the most popular pistols of the California Gold Rush.  This early small guard serial # 30310​ was mfg.'d in 1853.  The pistol hammer is frozen on full cock having already fired all of it's chambers. So it's safe to assume the pistol went down while the owner was still engaged in action.  This pistol's really got a great look.
