This is an American made Bowie more than likely in the Louisiana/Texas  where the Alligator was a popular symbol. The knife is 14 1/4"O/A and the blade is 9 1/4"  The handle has a nice patina with some age cracks.  The alligator’s eyes may have had some precious jewels at one time. The scabbard is in pretty good shape. A very eye appealing Southern Bowie  .
