I bought this neat early 20th century lighter at a Long Island gun show 30+ years ago. I knew nothing about it at the time but liked the way it worked. It's stamped Capitol Lighter under a Capitol dome on the side of it's mechanism. Also, on the thumb lever it's marked Patented Sept.17,'12. I decided today to check it out on the internet (which wasn't available to me at the time I bought it ) . I found that it was mfg.d' between 1927 and 1931 by Steele & Johnson of Waterbury, Ct. The mechanism still works. A pretty cool item!
