These S & W #2 Army's were very popular with Civil War Officers. This one is very early serial # 7934 so it would have seen the whole Civil War. It's barrel been professionally cut back to 2 1/2" for concealed carry.  At the time it was alterred it had a bead front sight installed  which is now missing. Overall the condition of the pistol is excellent retaining 85-90% of it's original factory blue finish. The action is smooth and crisp.  A really unique Civil War pistol.
