Col.Terrell’s Dragoons were mostly involved in Indian fighting and protecting Texas’ western boarders from a Union invasion. This sword, which he carried throught the War, is in good shape but definetly shows signs of use. The scabbard seam, which was welded once ,has opened up for about 3"and I believe the carry ring were replaced.. The blade has been sharpened but is all there and the engraved"Texas Dragoon"is very nice. The grip may have been re-wrapped which would be expected  for a well used sword. This is a really great Texas Confederate sword carried by a great man.
