This is a great looking 1870's Cowboy Colt & Holster.  Overall it exhibits a nice patina with a good amount of  varnish still present on it's grip. The frame still exhibits some of it's original factory case colors. The barrel was trimmed 1/4" in it's period of use and the front sight adjusted to accomodate. All visible serial numbers match and this being serial #978 would indicate 1872-73 production.   The cylinder still retains most of it's original factory naval scene.  The action is smooth and crisp and locks up well. The double loop western holster with diamond shaped nickle accoutrements  really sets this outfit off nicely.
