A classic Plains Rifle in untouched condition just the way it was put away for the last time 150 years ago. The stock is curly maple with a wonderful dark patina. It has a double set trigger which still works. The .42 cal. barrel still has pretty good rifling with a long tang in the St. Louis style. It has a Rocky Mountain front sight with a great looking rear Buckhorn sight. I took alot of pictures so please study them. These are the rifles that crossed the Plains on the Oregon Trail in hopes of a new life and land in Oregon or of striking it rich in the Calif. Gold Fields.
