This wonderful Silverware was made by "Rogers,Smith and Co. of New Haven,Ct." It was presented to "President Abraham Lincoln" just 3 months before his assassination . The business community of Oswego,N.Y presented it to him in appreciation of his appointing one of their own Andrew Van Dyck  to the Office of Customs Collections. This great outfit comes with the original letter of presentation to Pres. Lincoln containing All the signatures of the presenters and the original Treasury Dept. letter of appt. for Andrew Van Dyck and his License. For the Lincoln collector,it doesn’t get much better then this set w/all the original providence.
