South Carolina items that were used by the Confederacy are very difficult to find. This great piece has a period carved Palmetto Tree with a 4  and a K. on either side .  Underneath the tree is the soldiers name in his own hand. This was definetly done in it's period of use and has much wear on it.  The shotgun itself still cocks and fires and shows much use. Please refer to the cover sheet for the history on "Pvt.
