This great 'Apache' War Bonnet is made from tanned Buffalo hide. The interior of the bonnet still retains some of the original Buffalo hair. The horns are also Buffalo and retain their original drops made from weasel and trade cloth. The exterior of the bonnet has some designs made with yellow ochre. The back and top have some shells and Hawk bells. Everything is sinew sown. There's a fur lining in the back that I'm not sure of which animal it came from. It may be wolf. This is a really great Indian item that almost never come up for sale these days.
