This pair of War of 1812 pistols comes with a Mar.4, 1953 letter of provenance from the original family . It states that they were carried by their ancester Lt. Robert M. Harrison ,U.S. Infantry (Mounted) ,War of 1812.   Also, there’s an addendum added on Aug.27,1980 stating the ownership from 1953 to 1980.  In my research, I found that Lt. Harrison was wounded at the Battle of Plattsburg.  He satyed in the service until his death in 1825.  The pistols were made by William Allport and are in fine shape.  Both of the locks function properly. The 9" barrels are Britished proofed with William Allports initials W.A. A really nice pair of pistols with some great American history.
