A really fantastic Western outfit with volumes of provenance. The pistol and California style holster were stolen from William in 1904 while in California after his return from the Klondike. The best part of the story is the outfit was retuned to the family after they ran an ad in 1951 in 'The Shotgun News' (Copy included).  This great gun and holster originally went West with Samuel Russell in his pursuit of riches at 'The Comstock Lode' in Virginia City,Nev. Remember "Bonanza".  The pistol is in great shape with all matching serial numbers and one of the best set of checkered Ivory grips I've ever seen. The grips have a small sliver missing which doesn't detract from the guns great look.  The edges are sharp and the loading lever and frame still retain some case colors.  Also the cylinder has a very crisp scene.  The California Holster is super and all there. This is without a doubt the best Gold Rush outfit to come on the market in years.
