” Serial #145 ”

Sold

The 1st model Richards revolvers were made as original Colt cartridge pistols and not from leftover civil war parts. This pistol is serial# 145 & contains all matching numbers. It may be the earliest serial number known to date . Bruce McDowell in his Colt Conversion book lists serial number 147 & that one has mixed numbers. The ejector rod has been replaced on this gun. The cylinder scene is full and still exhibits the ” Engaged 16 May 1843 ” The grips are very good and retain 90% on their original finish. The trigger guard retains 98% of it’s original nickel finish. The action is very good. Overall the pistol has a beautiful aged patina with some original factory blue finish still in it’s protected area’s. The  gun comes with it’s original holster marked HSB & Co. REV-O- NOC which is a trade mark of Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett of Chicago.  A really nice outfit.
