A rare item seldom seen for sale these days. The watch was made by The American Watch Co. and it still runs. It will come with it's original key and watch chain. The outside back is engraved 3rd  U.S  Cavalry      On the back of the watch it's inscribed 1st Lt. J.P. Walker- Fort McPherson- Dept. of the Platte. It will come with all his service records. Also, an original copy of the Army and Navy Journal dated Aug.1, 1874. announcing his new assignment to the Dept. of the Platte at Ft. McPherson as of July 16.   He was promoted to Capt. on Nov. 30, 1879. The 3rd Cav. saw much Western fighting on the frontier
