I've had this great Buffalo Gun socked away in my collection for the past dozen or so years.  I can't remember the last time I saw one of these Heavy Barrel true Buffalo Rifles for sale.  This rifle comes with a factory letter stating it was shipped to B. Kittredge & Co., Cincinnati, Ohio Jan.15th,1878 in.45 cal. with a weight of 13 lbs. 5 ou.  Most if not all of the Heavy barrel Sharps Buffalo Rifles that were shipped to Kittredge in this time period were actually for Walter Cooper , Bozeman, M.T .  Sharps had cut off W. Coopers line of credit so he and Kittredge worked out a deal.  At the barrel breech the width is 1 3/8" across.  The rifle is really great and has a mint shiny bore with sharp rifling . The gun also has a provision for a tang sight .
