This is a French & Indian War Pocket Sundial/Compass. It's the British brass type having a screw on cap and folding sundial with a iron compass needle. The only other one of these I've ever seen is pictured on page 89 of George Neumann's "Collector's illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution". This is in excellent + shape and would display equally well in French & Indian War or American Revolutionary War Collection.
