This is a wonderful looking child’s spoon made from whalebone. The scrimshaw work is of a fine hand and was initialed by the sailor who did the work CMG.  One side exhibits what appears to be a Lasso , Blows, Blows and a Whale. While the obverse has a compass pointing North.  The spoon has acquired a beautiful aged patina.
