This musket is right out of the attic and is uncleaned and untouched. Just the way we like but rarely get to see these days. It’s a early short land with a 42"barrel and single screw lock with a period replaced frizzen spring and ramrod. The barrel is marked "60th Regt. 3Bn" the 3Bn(Battalion) is hard to see but it’s visible. They were raised in 1775 and saw heavy fighting in the Georgia campaign & operations of 1779. Also, tthe Fall of Baton Rouge in 1779 & the Fall of Pensacola in 1781 The 60th Regt. was referred to as the "Royal Americans"and saw much action in the French & Indian War and  American Revolution. This musket is an American captured musket as the stock has initials  and a date carved in it (S B 1807) .No British soldier would dare to do that as it was the Queens property.  A really great Brown Bess that changed hands early in the war and was used on the American side of the War for Independence.
