This is a beautiful painting by American artist Franklin Dullin Briscoe. He lived and worked in Philadelphia from 1844-1903. This painting is a little out of character for him as he was know for his wonderful Seascapes. Seeing as this painting was done in 1896 you would have to think that this Buffalo was one of the "Last Ones Left". This may have been the reason he parted from his usual Seascape. A really nice painting with some minor touch up. This is most likely a very rare painting for this artist.
