A wonderful looking outfit that's obviously the work of master engraver Gustave Young. It exhibits the rare feature of  three face mask animal engravings. One of a Wolf  Head on the hammer, a Dog Head on the barrel lug and a third of a Dolphin in the scroll patterns on the left side of the frame at the hammer screw.  It's all matching serial numbers (80218) would put it's year of manufacture at 1853. The quality of the engraving on this attractive gun would suggest it's the work of   Gustave Young   himself. The engraving remains crisp and has the factory dot after each serial number for a total of 5 . The ivory grips have a wonderful aged yellow patina. The bullet mold & nipple wrench retains a nice blue -brown patina.  While the Colt flask retains most of it's original lacquer finish.  The F.J. Joyce & Co. cap tin has it's original label.  Also, includes a packet of Colt cartridges. The pistol exhibits some original blue in protected areas with some mild pitting and a overall beautiful even patina. The action is in good order. The barrel retains a nice shiney bore with good rifling.  The factory case and accessories are in very condition and have mild age and storage related wear which include minor faded lining and a very minor crack in the top lid. A rare and very desirable ensemble.
