A true Indian Wars Spencer issued to one one the most famous Frontier Cavalry units the "8th Cav. Co.’C’ ". I have all their records as to where they were issued these Spencers and were they were stationed. If you look at the cover sheet you’ll see that they were very active in the early Indian Wars of the Southwest. This carbine is in surprisingly good shape retaining some of it’s original casecolors on the hammer and receiver. The barrel has some of it’s original blue in the protected areas with the remainder turnng a pleasing blue-brown patina. As for the bore it’s very good with all it’s rifling and a pretty good shine to it. The wood is all there and shows evidence of being carried in a scabbard on horseback. A great piece that was there during the heavy Indian Fightng of the post Civil War era.
