This sword was formerly in the Wm. Guthman and Stanley Smullen colections. It is one of the subjects and is pictured in a 2011 Man at Arms article titled " Cast brass mounted swords of the Philadelphia Region- The So-Called Prahl Sword". The article will come with the sword. Louis Prahl was listed as a blacksmith in the Phila. area from 1775-1809. The blade of the sword is marked Harvey in a sunken cartouche and is covered in a crusty patina. It comes with it’s original scabbard which is all there with the exception of it’s throat. A wonderful early sword from two renowned collections.
