This is a very historic pistol fresh out of an old English collection where it’s been for many years. The pistol is of German origin from the 1740-1770 period and is signed on it’s banana shaped lock Hartmann. There are a couple of minor old age cracks that are solid and stable. The lock has been polished which is something I’ve seen before on other arms from old English collections. It was taken by British Officer from an American soldier at the Battle of Brandywine Creek . The inscription reads ” Taken at Brandywine Creek By Officers of 46th Regiment of Foot 11th Sept. 1777 “. It’s nice to have it back here on American soil! Sold
