These ‘Liege’  muskets were contracted for by Great Britain in order to arm the Loyalist troops here in America . It exhibits the classic ‘Liege’  shaded Tower and Crown on the lock along with Liege gunmaker Jean Gosvin IG sunken cartouche on it’s 41″ barrel.  According to the book ” The Brown Bess ” by Erik Goldstein & Stuart Mowbray  these Liege Brown Bess muskets  are very scarce. This musket appears to be in a wonderful untouched condition. The action works well and still has a strong spring. A hard musket to find these days!
