It's not often that you see Rocky Mtn. rifles made in Indiana and this one's a beauty.  It's 43" rifled barrel is .50 cal. with a nice makers signature on the barrel (W&A Norcross-Evansville, IA) .  The beautiful curly maple 1/2 stock has a hairline crack at the wrist area but is still solid thanks to the long (St.Louis style ) barrel tang. This is hardly noticeable and doesn't detract from the rifles appearance at all.  Also, one of the ramrod pipes is missing.  However, the rifle still retains it's original ramrod.  The lock is made by S. Baker.  One of the most attractive parts of this rifle is the double key forestock . This rifle weighs 15lbs. and would have required a pretty muscular man to handle it.  A nice and also rare addition to any Western collection.
