This pistol features a wonderful profuse Nimschke New York style broad scroll engraving. Amongst the scrollwork on the side plate is a nautical panel scene depicting a sailing ship. A floral blossom is engraved behind the hammer The right ivory grip features a relief carved female bust presumably that of Columbia , the personification of the American spirit. Seeing that this pistol was Mfg'd. in 1876-77 it fits with the Nations celebration of the Centennial . It's serial # 16916 is all matching on the butt, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch. The nitre blue screws set off a beautiful contrast to the 99% nickle finish. The hammer still retains 98% of it's original case colors. This pistol is in excellent + + condition, a true investment grade firearm !
