This English imported pistol is signed on the lock Hodgson & Co. (Robert Hodgson). The brass .52 octagon barrel has Birmingham proofs and is signed in script on it’s top flat Baltimore . The furniture is all solid silver and exhibits very fine engraving. The silver trigger guard bow retains Birmingham touch marks of silversmith Charles Freeth 1798. The ramrod appears original to the pistol and is horn tipped. War of 1812 documented pistols are scarce and one identified to Baltimore is very scarce.
