This is a really great and early Tomahawk. It comes with an old tag stating "Brass Spike Axe collected in Ontario-ex.collection of Ross Wilson-retired curator,Canadian War museum-note pewter repair attributed to the Huron. On close examination I think the repair was done with lead rather than pewter but that’s just my opinion. The really neat thing about the hawk is the fact that the hole in the head was done by a musket ball. You can clearly see that it’s smaller on one side than on the other which would be the side that the ball entered on. The haft is original with a great look to it.  I’ve also included a picture of an Indian holding a almost identical Hawk. This Hawk has been in some well known Indian collections such as Ross Wilson, Al Vaccarro and Wm. Meyers.
