These early English Lt. Dragoon pistols are rarely seen today and seldom offered for sale.  I just acquired it from a very old collection and it’s being offered for the first time in decades. The pistol is in fine shape and with all the proper features including the straight rounded lock having both bridles and a forward notch on the cock’s upper post, pointed trigger guard, elimination of the wrist escutcheon and raised beaver tail around the barrel tang. The 9" barrel is .66 cal with two board of ordnance proof marks. This pistol shows signs of American use such as the two initals stamped in the stock flat behind the sideplate.  British soldiers were forbidden from personal markings as the weapon belonged to the King . Also the ramrod appears to be American with a nice jag. These rare pistols  were used in American by both the 16th & 17th  Light Dragoons(Tarleton’s Regt.).
