This beautiful little Snaphaunce pocket pistol is a wonderful example of a 17th century gunsmith who was also a artisan. The 5" oct/rd. barrel is signed A. Tortiglione . The furniture is brass and exhibits some very fine engraving. Along with some nice carving on the stock. The lock still functions properly. There is a Crown over the wrist escutcheon which might imply royalty. A nice example of early 17th century workmanship.
