A very collectable Colt with much going for it.  I can’t remember the last time I saw a 2 digit serial number Colt for sale.  This pistol is all matching serial #51 . It has the rare 6 1/2"barrel with a good barrel address.  The cyl. has the rare Colt patent which was only on the earlist production pistols. The condition is fine with some blue under a great untouched patina. Capt. Lawrence scratched his name on the buttstrap and for sure would have carried this pistol to war. He fought at some of the major battles of the war including Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Winchester and Gettysburg. A very rare piece at a reasonable price.
