This ‘ Colt S/A is a rare pistol indeed. It’s one of the few that was inspected by both  Ainsworth & Casey.  Also, it’s a Colt buy-back with the classic .45 cal. on the trigger guard flat and nickle plating.  I’ve included copies of pages from Kopec’s book  “A study on the Colt Single Actions” on these rare pistols in my picture section. But the most unique part is the factory letter where they refer to  “Govt. Sale “ under special notation. I’ve never seen this before in a Colt factory letter . The pistol has all matching serial numbers (13721)  and 20-30% of it’s original factory nickle  plating which blends nicely where missing. The ejector rod housing hole has been modified in it’s life to fit aother screw head.   The action works fine and locks up tight.  I owned this rare pistol many years ago and was just able to acquire it again.  The pistol at one time was sold through Rock Island auctions with a Roper rig which a previous owner had added and I  didnt want as it wasn’t originally with the pistol . I’ve included a copy of their sale in my picture section. A true Colt rarity!
