A really great looking Colt with many rarity's. First off it's serial number 757 which makes it a 1873 produced pistol.  Secondly, the barrel serial number 5868 is from lot #6 of the Custer Colt's .  It still retains it's correct early ejector housing and donot head rod. The action is smooth and crisp. John Kopec in his definitve work "Colt Cavalry and Artillery Revolvers  states that the great majority of the surviving Seventh Cavalry Colts now exists as Artillery model.  The pistol has all the correct inspector initials . The grips are super with a JTC (John T. Cleveland ) cartouche  on the right grip and a 1880 DAL (David A. Lyle ) cartouche on the left. I've included some photo's from Kopec's book attesting to the Custer Colt's. This is a rightoues pistol . A real  keeper!
