This American musket fits the specs. of a true Committee of Safety. These muskets were only made from 1775-1776 and each State had it’s own requirements. Everything on this musket is American. The 40"+ barrel has no proof marks . You can see in the picture the really great American copper band that was applied to the forestock end. All the furniture is patterned after the 2nd model Brown Bess but are more diminutive in size which is correct. The lock is American and the frizzen has been re-shoed . The wood is all original and has never had new pieces spliced into it. It does however have a crack in the forestock which is easily glued. A really great and hard to find Rev.War musket.
