A very attractive Fusil with a pronounced New England drop to the stock. The 40" barrel has early British proofs, is .65 cal. and was more than likely salvaged from a French & Indian War English officers fusil. The rest of the gun is all American to include the furniture and stock.  The stock I believe is American fruitwood as there is a knot in the wood on the left forestock that is starting to open up. This is only found  to my knowledge in fruitwoods such as apple.  The fusil has both front and rear sights which further attests to it’s American heritage.  This is a really nice Rev.War piece.
