This is only the 2nd gun I’ve seen, in over 30 years of collecting, that had direct providence to the Battle of New Orleans. The best part is the man who carried this pistol served directly under Gen.Andrew Jackson. I don’t know much about French pistols of this period but I do know it’s still in orig.flint and I think some of the wood on the forestock has been replaced during it’s period of use but you’d have to look hard to find it. Included with this pistol is a folder with much history on "Lt. Foix and the Orleans Battalion" An almost impossible item to find nowadays.
