This is a very rare Colt with less than 2000 mfg.d' between 1873-75. The pistol is in excellent condition retaining 90% of it's original factory nickel finish . All the serial numbers match and the action is crisp . The grips retain almost all of their original factory finish. The back strap is inscribed Stephen Venard. He was one of the most colorful lawman of the old west. He was also a close associate of Wells Fargo's chief detective James B. Hume. I have a very thick folder on him and his exploits that will come with the pistol.
