A really wonderful looking Bowie from the very famous team of Bown & Tetley in Pittsburgh, Pa.  The knife is of the large Fighting design with a razor sharp Clip point 11" blade with a 5" sharpened false edge.   I beleive the bone handle was added on the Frontier and has been on this knife since it’s period of use. At one time it had a circular decoration on the one flat side . The obverse side is round and really fits the hand nicely.   Bown & Tetley mostly made large caliber rifles for the Western trade and their Bowie’s are extremely rare.  A super Western Fighting Bowie !
