This guns right out of the woods and just the way I like to find them.  These upstate New York "Hudson Valley Fowlers" were involved in some of the bloodiest fighting of the Rev.War.  As it was the local farmers with their personal fowlers serving in the local militia's that got the brunt of things.  The barrel is 54 1/2" with an overall length of 70".  The stock carving around the barrel and trigger guard tang is classic Hudson Valley.  Although it is partially hidden under a great looking period brass wrist repair. The lock is a perfect fit but I believe it was replaced in it's period of use.  A really charming piece of history with a great patina.
