I've included in my pictures copies of the pertinent information from the folder which came with this wonderful medal when I acquired it a dozen years ago. This is one of 196 authorized re-strikes by the U.S Mint . These restrikes were sold at a sufficent price to cover the costs of the original gold medal.  This medal has been well worn , silver plated and has a well patinaed surface with microscopic scratches indicating considerable use wear. It has been professionally holed to be worn around the neck which would indicate Indian use.    As you can see from the pictures this is a very attractive medal that would display nicely in any Indian/Western collection.
