The lock on this musket is marked B. Flagg & Co.-Milbury 1849 . The barrel has been cut down to 24″ in it’s period of use. The carbine exhibits typical Indian hard use and has a Circle in the Star cut into it’s rt. butt stock. This was done in it’s period of use and exhibits all the appropriate wear and cracking as the rest of the stock. Robert Smith did some great research in the mid 1990’s on these Warrior Society guns. This was published in the August 1995 issue of Man at Arms magazine . He felt that these Cheyenne and Sioux Warrior Society’s participated in the Battle of the Little Big Horn. A very desirable Indian gun.
