This is a high quality American target/sniper rifle with a finely handmade rear sight which is adjustable for windage and elevation. The .45 cal. barrel is 32" and is 1 1/8" across the muzzle . It appears to have been reduced at one time possibly for field use as these target rifles were very effective when used by Snipers in the Civil War. There's a german silver plaque by the side plate with the owners name H.W.Hubbard. The stock is made of naturally striped walnut and exhibits a Kentucky style patchbox with 10 german silver inlays. The ramrod may be a replacement. The lock is by Ott & Greer with double set triggers which function properly. The overal weight is 13 lbs. A very attractive rifle with a very neat rear sight.
