This an incredibly rare musket and seldom seen for sale. It pre-dates the 1st Model Brown Bess and goes back to the time when the Colonels raised and trained the troops for service to the King/Queen. At that time the Colonel would purchase the Arms for his troops from private contractors and have the arms made to his specifications. This musket is in super condition and has the Colonels ownership mark (crown) stamped in the stock. The contractor was R. Sinckler and is engraved in the flat three screw banana shaped lock. The barrel is in it’s original 41"length and retains 2 early British proof and the makers mark. The wrist escutcheon has the letter ‘O’ under a crown. The forestock has a really super swell to it. A really great musket that is much harder to acquire than a 1st model Brown Bess. This musket would be the centerpiece in any British or Colonial Collection
