This great Gettysburg Relic has been in my personal collection for over 30 years. The faded tag (which has become part of the grip) identify's where this pistol was found. It states " COND. IN THE WALLS OF THE TROSTLE HOUSE DURING RENOVATION SEPT. 19.2 GETTYSBURG, PENN. " The Trostle farm is located right in the middle of the Battlefield. The pistol is missing it's hammer and loading rammer as you can see and totally untouched. The Trostle farm house was Gen. Daniel Sickles headquarters during the Battle. The 9th Mass. Battery fought a desperate last stand July 2nd on the farm. Historically they don't get better then this !
