A very beautiful and quite unique Civil War sword identified to Lt. Haskins 16th Vt. Inf.   The eaglehead pommel is a design I’ve never seen before and my be unique to this particular sword.  The blade is high relief chiseled with a beautiful vine and scroll design plus a federal eagle on one side and U.S on the obverse.  A really  good looking Civil War sword.
Lt. Haskins must have been a Freemason as there are Freemason designs on both the guard and the blade.
