Ong (1862-1939) .Ong was a railroad engineer born in Illinois who lived in Missouri and then Iowa before homesteading in Wyoming in 1921 on Little Lightning Creek near Lance Creek and had lands in the oil fields. The rifle is in pretty good shape for a Western Frontier used rifle. The barrel is mostly grey and brown patina . The wood is good and has a minor wrist repair, a hole from a screw used to tune the trigger pull before the addition of the double set triggers . Numerous chips along the edge of the forearm and moderate overall wear consistent with use of on the Wyoming frontier. The set trigger needs some adjustment but the rifle is otherwise mechanically fine.
