This old Colt has alot going for it.  For starters it comes with a Colt factory letter stating it was one of 50 shipped to William M.Sage -Charleston, S.C.  He was the Quartermaster of the famous Holcomb Legion. The second rarity is the extremely low serial number. The third is it’s a 7 1/2 "with a Hartford address which is very rare.  As a Confederate pistol it saw quite a bit of action (refer to picture of cover sheet). I believe the grips have been replaced (although they fit pretty good) along with a couple of screws.  Anything done on this pistol was done during it’s period of use and has commensurate wear and patina.  The action cycles fine and locks up tight.  Almost all of the original nickle is still on the trigger guard and backstrap. The rest of the gun is a brown patina.  A good looking Confederate pistol with a Colt Factory Letter.
