This is a really great western outfit with good family prov. The 1873 Colt has all matching serial numbers with about 50-60% of it’s original factory nickel finish and a great set of Ivory grips. The grips have the original owners initials scratched in it and the son scratched the date when his father acquired the gun which was ’91 and when the son got it 1912. . The family affidavit signed by the grandson"James R.Slossom" attests to the guns history from Jetmore.Kansas when his grandfather Stiles Slossom carried it while Deputy Sheriff to The Big Hole Basin, Montana where his Uncle Henry Slossom used the gun while working as a cowboy on the Bacon Ranch in Wisdom, Montana. The holster and belt are marked Denver Mfg. and are a rare item on their own. The rig is in very good shape and is still very pliable. This gun was shipped to St. Louis,Mo. in 1883 and the factory letter states this and the barrel length as 7 1/2" and nickel finish. A Colt and Denver Rig carried by a Dep.Sheriff and his brother a Montana cowboy.
