The pistol is of a high quality with a 7 1/8" .54 cal barrel which has a platnum touch hole. The lock is a single screw flintlock with a safety and roller frizzen which would date it to the 1830's period.  The wood is in really good shape with a minor crack at the left fore end which is stable. Overall the pistol exhibits a rich patina.  Seeing as Barnett was a prolific supplier to the Fur Trade this pistol would fit equally well in either a English Arms collection and an American Fur trade colection .
